Henry Hussey's Land Holdings

The land surveying methods used during Henry Hussey's time don't allow for a precise location of his holdings to be determined today. However, enough information is available to determine a general location. The records refer to the eastside of the Machapongo River, now called the Pungo River, and Slade Creek that starts just south of marker number 1.

Henry's Land Holdings
Henry's land was Located on the east side of the Machapongo river that is now known as the Pungo river and was bounded by Slade Creek. It encompassed more than two square miles at it's peak.
Woodstock
The county seat until the 1820's. Henry operated a ferry service to this location.
